Flying Fives 2017

The Room 4 boys were enjoying the afternoon sun playing outside - Roger, David, Tanei and Aarush

We were dressed up as different characters.

We made some frogs. First we folded the paper in half. Then we glued on the hands and feet. We rolled or folded the tongues and gave our frogs 2 big eyes. We finished them off by covering them in spots.

Today I am the King. That is why I have a serious look on my face. The King has to be the boss and command people. BY Zikria

Mahina and Zariah are playing with the dolls in the doll house. They are playing happy families. The kids are playing and the mums and dads are sleeping.

Be Pe - I have been shopping. Genesis was working at the shop and Phoenix. I had to give them my money to get some food for my babies. Now I am going to church.

Today Semi is Spiderman and a Policeman. His job is to save people from monsters. Spiderman has got strong muscles.

Matheus saw the people wearing lions heads on TV. The lions are here to play rugby. They are going to vs the All Blacks.

Mrs Donna is playing with the puppets with David and Aarush.

Today Kayson is working in the shop. But he isn't Kayson, he is actually Debbie. Dressing up and being other characters is a lot of fun. Today there are lots of nice things to buy in the shop. You need to bring all your money.

Angel and Lani have come from Edgewater College to work with us at Flying Fives. They are helping Tanei and Zikria sew their bears.

Here is the start of our display for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We are sewing our own bears, making beds and cooking porridge.

Sisilia is dressed up ready to go to a birthday party. She is going to say happy birthday with a chocolate cake that she baked.

Flying Fives is Fun With My Friends

Be and Tanei like dressing up when they come to Flying Fives.

Tanei said that it's fun being Hulk Smash because he can jump high. Be Pe said it's fun playing with her friends.

David is working in the shop. Today he is taking money off people when they buy food from him. He is selling lots of nice things.

Jaylee is stirring her mixture to make a cake.

The cake is for a baby's birthday.

Phoenix has come to the kitchen to see if we had any food we would sell him.

We sold him a basket of fruit for $50.00

Ane and Mayshar are getting ready to go to a party.

Welcome to Flying Fives Semi.

This is Semis first day at school. Semi likes making things with the Lego.

Daniel and Densyn - We have got a new monster truck and lots of action men that go with it.

We were excited about seeing the action men set because it came with lots of equipment and clothes that you can change the men into.

Tan has come all the way from Edgewater College to work with the children at flying fives.. Look at the fantastic train track the children have set up today. The trains are a favourite activity for many of the students when they come to flying fives. Thank you Tan for helping us today.

Densyn and Tavyn are learning how to sew.. We are making mice.

Mrs Donna was teaching us how to make a fish. We were learning lots of new skills. Tracing around a shape, punching holes and threading.

WALT sew using big needles and wool. Today we started sewing our mice. We filled the bodies with cotton wool.

We are playing super heroes. They have powers that make them strong.

Superman can fly. Batman can fly, shoot lasers, kick and punch. Iron man punches the bad guys.

Alexxa - I was in the sickbay because i needed to put the ice pack on my toe. I had all the soft toys on my lap.

Be and Jaylee are playing shops. Be is the shopkeeper and Jaylee has come to do her shopping.

Daniel, Lawrence and Riley are enjoying playing with the trains. First they had to work together to set up the track and then they could use the trains to go around the the track.

Aarush and David are enjoying talking together through the puppets.

Matheus and Aarush are enjoying the puppet theatre. They are using different voices and being different characters.

Today I am a cow girl. I am like Woody off Toy Story. I like dressing up when I am at Flying Fives.

Welcome Jaylee to School and Flying Fives.

The girls are packing a health school lunch box.

Riley - Today was fun at the woodwork table. I was learning to hit the nail on the top so it would go in straight.

Phoenix - I am being very careful using the sharp saw to cut the wood. I had to go backwards and forwards. It took a long time to cut the wood. I was very happy when I had cut it. Once I had cut my piece of wood into 2 pieces I hammered the short piece onto the long piece and made a sword. The safety glasses stopped the sawdust from getting in my eyes.

Phoenix is working in the shop today. Unique had to find $2 to buy the tea bags.

Be is using a hammer to help fix our little play house because one of the boards was coming off. Thank you Be for your help.

We made Yankee Doodle Hats to go with Yankee Doodle who went to town. We had to do a lot of paper folding and listening to instructions. This went with a Nursery Rhyme.

Flying Fives is a busy room on a Monday and a Thursday afternoon.

Today I am busy because after shopping I stopped off at the woodwork table to do some sawing. - Genesis

Densyn - I made my own sword. First I had to cut my piece of wood with the saw then I used the hammer to nail the short piece to the long piece.

Daniel is learning to saw at Flying Fives. It is hard work. But Daniel kept at it and was able to cut through the wood.

Densyn, Matheus and Tanei - We are having a battle. The soldiers are standing on a bridge. They are getting ready to fight the bad guys.

Zikria and Unique have fun outside playing with the water. We have a new waterwall and deck so we have a great space for playing outside when the water is out.

Sisilia and Alexxa - We are cleaning the play house.

On a Monday and a Thursday Room 4 and some of the students in Room 3 go to Flying Fives in Room 10. Flying Fives is a busy Room. There are lots of activities for the students to choose from. We learn a lot through play.

Alexxa is shopping at Phoenix and Tanei's shop.
